"I paint with acrylic medium on canvas, enjoy carving, and other techniques all which help me define the world that I see and touch.

Discovering the secret strengths within each subject is my challenge and I aim to bring these messages into a light of their own. Sharing this experience has become my living."

Christene Fulton Sandeson B.A., B. Ed., M.Ed., lives in Truro, N.S. the home of many painters and musicians, enjoys the support of her family, the challenge of her career, and the pleasures of horseback riding. A visit to her attic studio will reveal a variety of creative pursuits: imaginative acrylic on canvas paintings and portraits, gray and red sandstone and painted plaster carvings, and, table tops laid out with teaching plans and activities in developmental stages. Christene began her teaching and art making career in the late seventies. She began to raise her family while teaching art part time and cooperatively owning/ managing Signatures Gallery of Fine Art. During this time she developed her artistic skills, mentored under the young artist Andy James, began to offer the television series "The Secrets of Seeing" (Eastlink Communications), completed a stone carving course at the N. S. College of Art and Design, and obtained a short term art professorships at then N.S. Teacher's College and the Institute for Early Childhood Education. She continued upon this path into the 90's, participating in many artistic exhibitions and obtaining a Masters of Education degree in 1995.  She currently participates in the Nov, Scotia Studio Rally, offers art expression programming to Federally Sentenced Women, and teaches art part time to high school students with the Chignecto Central Regional School Board. Christene's favorite medium is acrylic on canvas created in styles that range from the portrait to imaginative.
